Jim recently composed six pieces for Charles Postlewate's historic Anthology Of Contemporay Solo Guitar Music For Five Fingers (also featuring works by Ricardo Iznaola, Luis Zea, and Gerald Garcia). If you follow developments in the classical guitar world, you're aware of Postlewate's considerable efforts in developing the right-hand little finger so that it becomes integrated into the overall compass of fingerstyle technique. Toward that end, he comissioned pieces by prominent composers known to use the technique, including Jim, whose contributions include "Leo's Blues," "Before Six," "Chuck's Waltz," "Debussiana," "Sumi Dance," and a five-finger version of "Asian Pavan." New Series: Spring Street Editions--print editions (standard notation only) of Jim's compositions for classical/fingerstyle guitar. Jim's solo guitar composition "Asian Pavan" (from Cedar & Silver) was featured in the October 2005 issue of Great Britain's prestigious Classical Guitar Magazine.
