Bb Blues Turnaround 12
Here's another "static" turnaround ("static" refers to the fact that it revolves around the tonic chord, moving down and then back up chromatically). In terms of the left-hand, this one easy to play fingerstyle, which enables you to utilize a barre; if you play pickstyle and need to damp the fourth string, then a bit of a left-hand reach is required at one point that is tough but by no means impossible. Notice than only the initial chord is given, the rest being the consequence of maintaining the Bb in the upper voice while remaining voices move down chromatically. The chords that follow Bbadd9 could be viewed in a couple of different ways, both of which have the potential to create confusion. "Static" turns give you yet another option that other turns down and can be very effective while at the same time being convient to play and think of. There are more possiblities; we'll explore another one next month. See you then.
